Enthusiast of AI and machine learning

AI is close to reaching and surpassing what was promised in movies when I grew up. I'm excited to be alive at a time when work, education, and art are fundamentally changing. Just as carpenters have used power tools for decades, we are finally getting power tools for the mind. Being a Computer Engineer and a programmer of 20+ years has me feeling that I’m at the right place at the right time.

Current interests include:
  • Voice mode with chat-gpts
  • Content creation with GenAI
  • Current AI research
  • Societal and cultural implications of AI

AI commentary feed — short, sharp takes on AI news and ideas, inspired by Slashdot and Seth Godin. It's an RSS feed you can subscribe to, but here's the twist: Facebook is the discussion platform. Instead of building yet another comment system and fighting the impossible battle of forum moderation, I'm leveraging what Facebook already does well — identity, threading, and community tools that actually work at scale. AItweets link to Facebook for discussion. Subscribe to the feed. Join the conversation on Facebook.

Strategic AI Content & Analysis
YouTube

His content is insightful and well thought-out. Not surface level or one-propmt slop. The volume of content and the level of its caliber is a testament to his expert knowledge of AI tool use. I'm surprised he hasn't burned-out yet.

Mathematics & Machine Learning Visualization
YouTube

I must admit that I'm jealous of this channel. I would love to be able to create content like this. It's a great choice of topics mixed with good presentation and great visualizations. I've bought both of the books they sell.

AI Research Highlights & Technical Reviews
YouTube

This is a great channel to keep up with important AI research. It's quick and consise with a good dose of irreverence. I wonder who 'bycloud' is?

A Brief History of Intelligence

Evolution, AI, and the Five Breakthroughs That Made Our Brains
Book

Fatastic book. It uses the developments in machine learning and AI as a framework to discuss the evolution of intelligence. It introduced me to the idea of 'shared attention' as a skill needed for language development; plus lots of other 'of course' ideas.
